I mentioned last week that I would be doing a post to get you informed and ready for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I’m going to give you a breakdown of what the sale is about, how to get early access, why the sale is worth it and my shopping tips. So let’s delve in.
In my own words, it’s a once a year event where you can score on all the big name brands and more expensive pieces that you can’t always afford throughout the year. Click the link above to find out all the details on the Nordstrom site!
Cardholders and the “general public” will all benefit from this sale. However, cardholders will be able to shop eight days before the public. You’re probably thinking so what I can wait the eight days and you can but just know that a lot of pieces will already be sold out or out of your size or color preference. If you are just casually shopping the sales then I wouldn’t worry about early access, it wasn’t until last year that I really started to take the sale seriously and Edward and I invested in their credit card.
How do you become a cardholder?
To gain access early you can sign up for the Nordstrom credit card and get 15% off your purchase OR you can sign up for the Nordstrom Debit Card! Yes, they have a debit card option, rejoice! The Nordstrom Debit card is a card that is directly linked to your bank account. Either way, credit or debit card you will earn the same exact amount of points for purchases and you get all the same benefits!
What’s all the hype about?
This sale is completely different from their end of the season markdowns simply because every item in the anniversary sale is brand new pieces! Most people use the sale to stock up on more expensive name brand pieces for winter. From snow boots to winter jackets and designer jeans. You can also use the sale to stock up on beauty products throughout the year or if you are like me you can go ahead and snatch up Christmas gifts for your family early. This ensures that you are able to get them nice quality gifts at a lower price. This also means that your wallet won’t take as big of a punch in December and you won’t have to deal with pesky Black Friday shopping.
The best part is you don’t have to go into stores to do your shopping, you can do it from the comfort of your own home.
The sale will be between July 13th to August 6th. I will be rolling out a few post that included summer and winter outfit inspirations, wellness and beauty posts and so much more. There will also be a giveaway happening so you can score some cash to use on the sale!
Be sure to mark your calendar to remind you. Early access is July 13th-20th, however, the sale will be open to everyone on July 21st through August 6th. Prices will go back regular on August 7th.
My Shopping Advice…
First and foremost I know how tempting it will be to buy more than you need just because some of the sales are so good. Now this article may sound like Edward and I are big spenders but we’re really not. I use this sale to stock up on nice brands, beauty products, and home pieces for the year.
My main tip is to search for your biggest expenses throughout the year. I use Clinique’s Smart Custom-Repair Serum and at $90 dollars for 1.7oz bottle things, can get a bit pricey. Buying it in bulk during the Anniversary Sale helps me to save a lot of cash over the year while also stocking up on something I use daily. Also, during this time I like to watch out for some of my favorite designers and pick up a few pieces from them. Last year I was able to get a Kate Spade crossbody for myself, a bracelet for my sister for her birthday, and Kate Spade earrings for some friends and family for the holidays.
