While shooting candid shots, I’m a sucker for animals (particularly our 3 dogs). Catching the right moment with people happens, but with dogs, I tend to find 9/10 shots to be of my liking. As with a planned shoot, I prefer settings that are rich in nature but also have a cityscape in the background. This can range from a visit to the dog park to pigeons on a fountain.
You can find beauty in the most random of places. Edward and I were walking down the street the other day while we were on the way to lunch and I came across a beautiful tree going through its fall transition. I knew I just had to stop to take a photo to capture our wonderful day together.
My suggestion to you is to pack up the car one weekend and go explore a small town nearby and be sure to check out all the nature and character that the area has to offer you.
